Witness Royalty and the last day at the "Towers"
by Lynnie inmy uber elder cousin and his wife got the "privilege" of having one last "toast" of wine at the rooftop garden at the towers in nyc since the jw's are vacating to warwick.
his oldest daughter and son in law are quite high up in the inner circle so they get invited to all the "inner circle" activities.
even though they aren't supposed to toast to anything it was pretty darn close.

I remember their driving Oldsmobile 98s, back in the early '70s. I was surprised that the one I looked into had crank windows!

If Elders and Ministerial Servants did what Michael Fallon has done, few would remain
by Isambard Crater inover the years i have seen plenty of elders and ministerial servants touch other j.w's knees, thighs, give very long and intimate hugs, blah, blah, blah.
i know of other sisters who have felt really uncomfortable with such behaviour, but the brothers have just explained that they're being loving as caring christian friends, so they get away with it.
it angers me that no j.w's will speak out about historic or ongoing inappropriate touching for fear of being disfellowshipped or losing the hope of paradise..

It works both ways, male to female, female to male. My comments are relative to tactile human contact per se, not necessarily that initiated by the higher ups in JW society.
Because of my background and personal "wiring," I'm all right with a brief, "hello" or "goodbye" hug. Beyond that, like getting too up close and personal, I am uncomfortable.
Being friendly and warm towards others -- outgoing -- is not an invitation to cross boundaries. I speak for myself.

Nowadays, we get to live longer!
Time was that what we went through killed many. I learned, however, that genetic predisposition factors in. Yet, a healthy diet and exercise do matter.

Today's W.T when it mentioned Depression and Anxiety
by Isambard Crater inour co-ordinator put his hand up and commented saying that people who go on about how depressed or anxious they are just need to stop giving in to impulses and show more self control without letting their emotions rule their lives.. if anyone from the media, a government agency or some other public body heard a comment like that, they'd have a hard time exercising self control over the rubbish this elder spouted, which my friends and family with genuine depression found insulting..

If you have Windows 10 . . .
by compound complex inmy roommate bought a new dell laptop, operated by windows 10. in the three weeks he's had it, it's online then goes offline (and this repeatedly): when he goes from one e-mail to another, when he engages in a financial transaction, when he opens a new webpage, etc.
he does the basic rebooting, as prescribed in the article whose link is attached.
his pc and my older dell and apple powerbook are all on wifi.

Greetings, neat blue dog, bsmart, and scratchme1010:
I really appreciate this info! It seems a solution is at hand. He and I both think it weird that my two ancient laptops, although deficient in minor ways, never have left me as frustrated as he is with a very expensive device.
THANKS MUCH!

If you know of similar issues, are you aware that it's because Microsoft fixed one problem but created this new one I am describing?
Any information you might provide would be appreciated.
THANKS!
